Photo 1: Joshua wasn't sure he wanted to go fishing. "Go, it'll be fun," we all encouraged. Joshua wasn't convinced. He wasn't sure how far out the boat would go, how rough the waters would be, or how to reel in the fish if he was lucky enough to even catch anything. With a kiss from the door, he agreed, apprehensively.

Photo 2: Joshua's spirit began to lift as the sun rose in the sky. He had made it onto the boat and into the bay. This was the first time he'd ever been on a boat.

Photo 3: The sun was up and apprehension changed to cautious expectation. The boat sped out to deeper waters in search of a good spot. Joshua held on.

Photo 4: Comfortable enough with Cousin Jack, Joshua started fishing. Pop reminded the boys that it is called "fishing", not "catching" and they'd have to be patient.

Photo 5: Their patience paid off. The first catch AND the biggest! Joshua was so proud.

Photo 6: One hundred pounds of fish - a first for our little fishermen. The crowd gathered at the dock to view their catch. They were experts now.

Photo 7: Over the hurdle of worry and the unknown, Joshua relaxed and had a wonderful, momentous, first time fishing. They'll be a lot of firsts in his life. Maybe he'll remember back to his first fishing trip and realize, with all things in life, you have to cast the line to make the catch.
